About this plant
Look at the funny shape of the foot on this Beaucarnea: just like a bottle! That's right, the plant uses the foot to store water. The Beaucarnea is also called elephant foot and is very decorative because of its fierce plume.
The Beaucarnea, or elephant's foot, is native to tropical and subtropical regions in Asia and Africa. This stylish, easy-care plant is 3.5 years old before the smallest variant is sold. Older plants can live up to 15 years before they leave the nursery! Tip from our grower: 'Make sure the leaves can hang freely, because if they make contact with a wall, cupboard or curtain, they can turn brown'.
Our care tips
"A lot of light, not in direct sunlight. Ideal temperature 20 ºC. Keep moist, potting soil must not dry out. Fertilize once a month. Keep plant slightly drier in winter. Long shelf life."
